Radar Tomography (RT)

Background
RT is a patented combination of hardware, software, and process, where the respective components are tightly integrated for maximum resolution and accuracy. United Consulting is the Georgia representative.

Procedures
RT creates high resolution 3D imagery of the subsurface, depicting utilities, including concrete, clay and plastic and other features with amazing clarity and accuracy. This data, factored into the design process, allows for virtually conflict free construction translating into significant savings to companies.

Applicability
Although RT was designed to locate utility lines, it’s ability to “see” underground makes it applicable to many near-surface concerns. In designing new infrastructure, it’s impossible to factor in existing subsurface conditions, so conflict is inevitable. The core problem is the inability to truly “see” underground. RT is able to identify infrastructure objects that are not shown on any map . . . as abandoned facilities, rock formations, unmarked burial sites, etc.
